Enjoy yourself on Cornwall's Beaches!
Always read the safety signs when you arrive at the beach and explain what they mean to young children. Please make sure you aren't going to get cut off by the tide. Do not let your children out of your sight, and only bathe within your depth.
What The Flags on The Beach Mean!Red and Yellow flags at the water’s edge mean bathing and body-boarding is only permitted between these flags. Black and White chequered flags at the water’s edge apply for all surf craft. A Red Flag indicates that no bathing is allowed. Please accept advice from lifeguards as to when and where to bathe, and stay out of the water when the red flag is flying. The Blue Flag is internationally recognised. Beaches and marinas that fly the Blue Flag must meet high standards of cleanliness and management and promote environmental awareness in the community.
