Owned by a series of notable families through the centuries from 1246, Trevarno is the last of five manorial estates remaining in Cornwall.
The 35-acre Victorian garden has a lake and boathouse, yew tunnel and an Italian Garden.
Other attractions include the Vintage Soap Collection, the "must see" National Museum of Gardening and a vintage coin collection (with small additional charge – and only modern coins are accepted). Who needs a PS3 when there’s this much excitement on offer?
Various craft workshops in development and woodland adventure play area for the kids to let off steam before being bored to tears round the Soap collection.
A pleasant day out, with the Fountain Garden Conservatory providing delicious homemade foods, the calming Estate Walk, shop and plant sales. Dogs on leads welcome.
