The St Austell Brewery Company Limited was founded in 1851 by Walter Hicks, who mortgaged his farm for £1,500 to set up the business in St Austell.
The company remains in private hands with Walter Hicks' descendants involved as shareholders, employees and directors, and is one of the oldest of only a few independent family brewers left in the UK.
See the visitor centre and be a part of the history… and maybe take a little some of it away with you! Includes museum and tour.

There are steep staircases and some low ceilings in the Victorian Brewery so the tour is not suitable for disabled visitors. However disabled visitors are welcome to come into the visitor centre shop and bar and have a look around the museum. Call 01726 66022 to arrange access.
