Green Camping in Cornwall

If you are concerned about climate change and your carbon footprint why not enjoy a green holiday in Cornwall?

The South West England is a front-runner in responsible travel, with a fantastic environment, distinctive culture, and more green certified tourism providers than any other region in Britain.

Visitors will find a huge variety of locally and organically produced food, feted by chefs such as Rick Stein and Jamie Oliver. The region's mild climate, lush pastures and coastal peninsula provide the perfect (at times almost sub-tropical) environment for some of the country's finest meat, dairy and fish produce.

Five ways to be the best sort of visitor…

1. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Refuse packaging and bags you don’t need.

You can use the recycling banks you’ll see in most main car parks across the area. Lots of campsites, hotels, B&BS and attractions have recycling bins now. And if you CAN'T see the recycling bins - just ask. It may be by asking you might just encourage the owner to provide them. If you don't - they'll never know you wanted one...

2. Get out of the car!

Walking, cycling and riding are great ways to see Cornwall without adding to traffic. Use public transport if you need to travel to your start point, but try exploring near to where you are staying - there are some fantastic places to see right on your doorstep.

Here are some great ideas for a car free day out:

5. Enjoy the Culture
