National organisation run by and working for disabled people which campaigns for disabled people’s rights. It also monitors legislation and prepares guidance and briefings for disabled people, offering information and advice on all issues relating to disability. Holiday Care Service
National charity founded in 1981 and is the UK’s central source of holiday and travel information for disabled and disadvantaged people. They offer a range of consultancy services covering access, inspections and disability awareness training for staff. Transport Information

Tripscope
National telephone-based information service on travel and transport for disabled and elderly people. It offers advice on travel options for specific journeys, whether local, cross-country or international. Free service open to individuals or organisations.

First Great Western
FGW provide a specific helpline for visitors with disabilities on 08457 413 775.
First Western National services have several low floor buses suitable for wheelchair access. For further information call 01209 719 988 and for local bus services in the Bodmin, North Cornwall area call 01208 79898.

Wales & West Journey Care
Provides assistance for those with disabilities travelling on their trains. help line on 0845 300 3005.

National Express
Able to assist people onto coaches that have some mobility and can be assisted up the coach steps with the aid of the driver and a helper. Blind dogs are accepted. 1st Class Travel
Wheelchair accessible private hire vehicle equipped to carry upto a maximum of three fully secured wheelchairs. Access is by the one piece folding ramp, via the rear of the vehicle. Contact (01872) 241757 or 07977503476, or email here.

Richard Wilson Accessible Transport Services
Provides a minibus with a lift and space for passengers in wheelchairs, available for hire by groups or day tours in the area and for transport to and from Cornwall from elsewhere in the country.

Falmouth Shop Mobility
Free scheme with scooters are available between 10am and 2pm Monday to Saturday. They are located in the Methodist Church on Falmouth Moor (Killigrew Street). Bookings should be made 24 hours in advance through Specsavers on (01326) 212733. This scheme has been sponsored by Specsavers, Falmouth and Horizon Mobility.

The National Trust - Information for Visitors with Disabilities
Free annual booklet giving information on the Trust’s most accessible properties should be read in conjunction with the yearly Handbook for Members and Visitors (free to Trust members or can be purchased from any National Trust properties or from the National Trust Membership Department), which gives details of opening times, etc. Free admission is available at all National Trust properties to the necessary companion of a disabled visitor.
